Charcoal Stove

Fire, one of the elements, has always been inherently rooted in ceramics and tea... Boiling water over charcoal can add another aspect to your tea practice, bring in a natural flow and benefit the quality of water.

Although brewing water on the charcoal stove is not that difficult, it does take a little practice and patience. It is also important to remember that: "The fire is a good servant but a bad master“! Therefore, please approach it consciously with adequate caution.

Before the first use, read carefully all the important warnings and safety instructions:

  • Ensure the area is very well ventilated. Never use the charcoal stove inside an enclosed room or other areas. Keep the window open and ventilate sufficiently. Burning releases carbon monoxide, which is odorless and CAN CAUSE ASPHYXIATION!!! The use of a CM detector is highly recommended.

  • Never leave the stove unattended while in operation and until the coals and ashes completely cool down. Keep any flammable substances away from the surrounding area.

  • The whole stove is extremely hot when in use and for several hours afterwards. It is very important to place the stove only on non-combustible surfaces. Another option is to use an insulating mat underneath to avoid burning or damaging the table, floor, etc. Use the stove only on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.

  • Do not move the stove while in operation. Use protective gloves or allow to cool down before touching it with a bare hands. Store the stove only when you are sure the fire is completely gone.

  • When disposing of remaining coals and ashes, ensure that they are completely cold and extinguished. If you are not sure, the safest way is to soak them in water.

  • Do not wear hanging garments and keep watch of your hair which can catch fire. Always keep children and pets away the stove. Do not allow children to use it.

  • Always use this stove in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal fire codes. Always have a fire extinguisher in reaching distance. Use the stove only as intended - to heat water in a boiling kettle.
