Alcohol Stove

Alcohol stove is suitable for maintaining temperature in a boiling kettle or side-handle teapot. The alcohol burner is not powerful enough to boil the water in a relevant amount of time. It is good to use another heat source (such as gas, or infrared electric stove) to bring it to boil and then move the kettle onto the alcohol burner.

Keep in mind that alcohol is highly flammable, so do use common sense when handling it. Please be careful ...as the saying goes: “The fire is good servant but a bad master”.

Before the first use, read carefully all the important warnings and safety instructions:

  • Use denatured alcohol only. Do not use any other fuels such as gasoline, diesel, methanol, propane, or charcoal lighter.

  • Use long matches or long lighters to light the burner. Quickly remove your hand as soon as the burner ignites. Never put your face or hands over the burner while it is in operation.

  • Before starting, ensure that the area is sufficiently ventilated. Burning releases carbon monoxide, which is odorless and can cause asphyxiation.

  • Keep any flammable substances away from the area surrounding the stove. Do not wear hanging garments and keep watch of your hair which can catch fire.

  • Eliminate all sources of sparks or flames from where the alcohol is stored or operated with. Always have a fire extinguisher in reaching distance.

  • Never leave the burner unattended. Always keep children and pets away from the stove. Do not allow children to use it.

  • Use the stove only on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping. Never shift the burner while it is in operation.

  • Overfilling the burner, spilt alcohol and hot objects can cause severe burns. Wipe any spilt alcohol immediately to prevent uncontrollable burning. Let the stove cool down before you touch it with bare hands.

  • Always use this alcohol stove in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal fire codes. Use the stove only as intended - to heat water in a kettle.
